Rabbit hutches and guinea pig hutches is the only safe place where your little pets can safely play, eat, exercise and move freely. Some people think that amount spent on rabbit hutches and guinea pig hutches is a mere waste of money, because rabbits and guinea pigs can be kept anywhere so there is no need to purchase special hutches for them. But they are very delicate animals so they need much care and maintenance otherwise predators may easily cause harm to them or even kill them. The main aim of cages is to protect them from predators so it must be placed in such a place where predators can’t reach. So if you have rabbits or guinea pigs then to provide them shelter to ensure their safety and protection should be your first priority.

As far as their independence is concerned, they can independently move in their hutch also if it has sufficient space. But if you keep them in an open garden or anywhere else then you always remains worry about their safety because predators may easily kill them in open area. Usually one guinea pig hutches require at least one square foot area to live comfortably whereas one pig requires at least 2 square feet of area. Its size must be enough so that it can accommodate more than two guinea pig otherwise you have to get another one when rabbits will multiply.
